ALA Combatants campirng in 15 cantonments now

The process of closure of 13 satellite cantonments and relocation of combatants optiong for integration into the 15 operational cantonment sites completed on monday.
Special committee secretariat coordinator balanand sharm said over 9700 combatants chooing integration are now confined to 15 cantonments and weapons used for perimeter security of the vacated camps have been stored in the arms storage containers.
The disposal of weapons used for security of satellite camps into containers is yet to complete in second division in sindhuli sharma told the post on monday evening. we expect to complete it by tomorrow.
sharma is scheduled to brief the prime minister led special committee on tuesday regarding the completion of downsizing the number of cantonments. the government had set up 28 cantonment sites across the country in 2006 to house the maoist combatants.
The special committee last month had decided to empty 13 cantonments citing the discharge of combatants opting for voluntary retirement.by kathmandu post
