Terror on Jerusalem's light rail

A 19 year ols female Israeli soldier was stabbed multiple times ans seriously wounded by a palestinis arab assilant aboard Jerusalem's  new light rail transit system on thursday morning .

The attack occurred near the northern end of the light rails route as it passes througt the arab neighborhood of beit hanina. A short time later police arrested the man they believe to be behind the attack as he made his way througt a checkpoint leading from jerusalem to palestinian aauthority controlled areas.
An eyewitness recounted the heartbreaking scene for the ynet news portal;
I was sitting on the train there were no screams or anything to indicate something had happend .When i looked back i suddenly saw a commotion and as i approached i saw the young woman beeding . she mumbled why did this happen to me
The victim is  at a jerusalem bospital suffering from serious stab wounds to here chest.
The Jerusalem municipality temporarily cancelled train service to northrn jerusalem in the wake of the attack. critics of the light rail project long warned that it would be nearly impossible  to protect passengers from stabbings shootings and bombingd aboard the largely unmonitored trains.( by israel today magazine)
